• Toshiba Want Indonesia So Production Base

    Toshiba Corporation, based in Japan could be control target 30 percent of the television market in the world within two years.

    President Director of Toshiba Digital Network Company Masaaki Oosumi admit, Toshiba was chasing a target to 30 percent in 2012, from 2009 to the position only 10 percent market share.

    “For that, Toshiba will expand production and increase sales in developing countries,” said Oosumi through the production launch of Toshiba LCD television, 1.5 million units in Cikarang, West Java, February 1, 2010.

    Oosumi said, world demand for LCD TV products in 2010 will reach 1.7 million units. The largest consumption of countries belonging to the G-7 (United States, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, England, and Canada), which is as much as 60 percent.

    Meanwhile, a television production based in Japan and the United States, reaching 90 percent of total global production of television.

    Toshiba optimism natural response by the Minister of Industry, MS Hidayat. According to him, the increase of electronic production in Indonesia will occur as demand increased.

    “The people’s purchasing power for electronic products rose 7 percent per year, so that number is an indicator of industrial production increased electronics,” said Hidayat.

    Currently, Hidayat added, Toshiba Corporation was negotiating with the government to make Indonesia its production base for export markets in Asean and the Middle East.

    “They plan to make everything centered in Jakarta, not only electronics but also the power station,” said Hidayat. “It indicates, Indonesia has started competitive,” he said.
